Traffic Police Issue Advisory for Youm-i-Ashoora in Srinagar Tomorrow
Srinagar: In preparation for the Youm-i-Ashoora on 10th Muharram, the Traffic Police Department in Srinagar has issued a detailed advisory to ensure smooth traffic flow during the main Zuljinah procession from Bota Kadal to Imam Bargah Zadibal.
Scheduled for July 17, 2024, the procession is expected to affect traffic in Zadibal and nearby areas, as outlined in an official communication obtained by ProKashmiri Media Group.
To assist commuters, several traffic diversions have been put in place:
- Vehicles heading towards Zadibal will be rerouted at Firdous Cinema-Mill Stop, Lal Bazar, Bota Kadal, and Chattipadshahi.
- Motorists traveling between Soura and Lal Chowk are recommended to use Dr. Ali Jan Road.
- Those traveling from Zakoora to Lal Chowk should take Foreshore Road.
Additionally, vehicles from Gojwara to Zadibal will be diverted at Firdous Cinema towards Dr. Ali Jan Road via Sazgaripora. Traffic heading from Lal Chowk to Badamwari via Rainawari will be redirected at Chattipadshahi towards Kathidarwaza. Residents of Lal Bazar are advised to use Kanitar-Hazratbal-Foreshore Road.
The advisory emphasizes avoiding unnecessary travel through areas with ongoing Youm-i-Ashoora processions to minimize disruptions. Emergency medical services will be prioritized with expedited routes available.
